Here are some examples to get us started ––
1. Use you mini DV camcorder as a document camera. Of course, you still need access to a LCD projector, but this site shows a nice design for a "homemade" document camera.
The Lightsmith camera mount and table sells for about $200, but you could achieve the same effect by using a tripod as a camera stand, or you might simply fasten your camera to your overhead projector.
2. Turn your classroom into a computer lab for less than $100. Plug a router into your ethernet port and go wireless. Invite students to use their wifi enabled ipods and cell phones to connect to the internet. Your internet filters will still block access to forbidden sites and students using the wifi connection won't incur any charges.
